Poker players from around the country gathered in La Plata, MD for the 1st Annual No Limit Texas Holdem La Plata Invitational (A Winner-Take-All event) In a surprise development, an unknown prodigy walked away with the title. The major turning point in the five hour marathon tournament found the remaining three players - all showing down straights - two with a five high wheel and the eventual champion taking the chip lead with a six high straight. The final hand came when the runner up went all in with a J8 and top pair showing. The winner completed a straight on the turn to take down top honors.|
